David and Johanna Redmond Roche purchased the apartment in 2011.

 

We both love Italy and wanted to find somewhere with great sunshine and authenticity and so investigated Puglia. Having travelled all over, we felt that Otranto had the best mixture of stunning sea, a beautiful historic centre, great restaurants and all year round activity. It is also a perfect base for exploring the region and wonderful towns such as Ostuni, Lecce, Gallipolli, Alnerobello etc are all within easy reach. The food and wine in Puglia, and particularly the fish and seafood in Otranto, are fabulous.

 

David is English (my parents were Canadian and Irish/French) and Johanna is a Finn. We have 3 boys between the ages of 34-28, and two grandchildren with a third on the way. We live in Surrey in the UK. We both love travelling and enjoy cooking, good food and wine, reading, theatre and the arts, skiing and scuba diving. David is also a passionate rugby fan.

Johanna originally worked in the City and has been a schoolteacher for the last 15 years.

David e Johanna Redmond Roche hanno acquistato l'appartamento nel 2011.

 

 

Amiamo entrambi l'Italia e la nostra intenzione era quella di trovare un posto al sole ma autentico cosi' abbiamo iniziato ad interessarci alla Puglia. Dopo aver viaggiato per tutta la regione ci siamo convinti che Otranto fosse il miglior compromesso per il suo mare cristallino, il bel centro storico, gli ottimi ristoranti e attivita' tutto l'anno. Inoltre e' un perfetto punto di partenza per esplorare la regione e raggiungere facilmente altre suggestivi posti come Ostuni, Lecce, Gallipoli, Alberobello ecc. Entrambi il cibo e il vino in Puglia, e nello specifico il pesce e i frutti di mare a Otranto, sono eccezionali.

 

David e' inglese (i miei genitori erano Canadesi e irlandesi/francesi) e Johanna e' finlandese. Abbiamo 3 ragazzi di età compresa tra 33 e 27 anni e un nipote. Abitiamo nel Surrey, non lontano da Londra. Tra le altre cose ci piace viaggiare, cucinare e goderci la buona tavola e il buon vino. Nel tempo libero amiamo la lettura di un buon libro, andare a teatro, sciare e fare immersioni. David e' anche un appassionato tifoso di rugby.
